Download Free eAudiobooks with SYNC
Are you interested in downloading free eAudibooks this summer? Now you can, thanks to Audiobook Community's SYNC campaign.
The SYNC campaign is designed to get more young adults listening to audiobooks. From July 1 through September 1, two audiobooks will be available each week for download: one best sellter and one classic. Each week, both books will share a common theme. All audiobooks used in the SYNC campaign are in the MP3 format and will work with both PCs and Macs. They can be transferred to a wide array of mobile devices.
Additionally, OverDrive is distributing all of the SYNC titles. To download titles, you will need to install the OverDrive Media Console. After you have downloaded your titles from SYNC, be sure to check out other free OverDrive downloadable ebooks and eaudiobooks that are available from the Troy Public Library here.
For more on SYNC, including the release schedule for free eAudiobooks, go here. To download this week's selections, go here.
NetLibrary eAudiobooks Unavailable After July 1
The Troy Public Library will be discontinuing our subscription to downloadable eAudiobooks from NetLibrary starting July 1 due to recent budget cuts. NetLibrary eBooks will still be available. Additionally, OverDrive will still have eAudiobooks available for download.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Library's Technology Department at techroom@troymi.gov or 248.524.3542.
Library CARD Helps You Obtain Oakland County Records Online
Do you need to get a copy of your birth certificate? Applying for a marriage license? Looking for court records? Thanks to the Oakland County Clerk & Register of Deed's Office, you can save a trip to Pontiac by ordering these documents online and having them delivered to your home.
To help spread the word about this service, the Troy Public Library is participating in the Oakland County Clerk's Office Library CARD (Convenience & Access to Records and Documents) Project. This Project distributes brochures and manuals to libraries in Oakland County to help show computer users how to access and order records online.
If you need help obtaining a record, come to the Library to pick up a brochure or ask Library staff, who will be happy to assist you.
